There are two different ways to change the hostname of an endpoint device via the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS):
Option 1:
If Adjust UMS-internal name if network name has been changed is checked under UMS Console > UMS Administration > Global Configuration > Device Network Settings:
For IGEL OS 12:
- In the UMS Web App > Devices, select the device.
- Click Edit Configuration.
- Go to Network > Common Settings > Computer name and specify the required hostname.
- Save the settings.
- Select that you want the settings to be applied Now.
- Refresh the browser window in order to see the changed hostname.
- Reboot the device.
For IGEL OS 11 and earlier:
- In the UMS Console > Devices, right-click the device.
- Choose Edit Configuration.
- Go to Network > LAN Interfaces.
- Change Terminal name.
- Click Save.
- Select that you want the settings to be applied Now.
- Click the Refresh button in the UMS in order to see the changed hostname.
- Reboot the device.
Option 2:
If Adjust network name if UMS-internal name has been changed is checked under UMS Console > UMS Administration > Global Configuration > Device Network Settings:
- In the UMS Console > Devices, right-click the device.
- Choose Rename.
- Change the name.
- Click OK.
- Right-click the device.
- Choose Other commands > Settings UMS -> Device.
- Reboot the device.
