Changing the Hostname of an Endpoint Device via IGEL UMS
There are two different ways to change the hostname of an endpoint device via the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS).
Option 1:
If Adjust UMS-internal name if network name has been changed is checked under UMS Console > UMS Administration > Global Configuration > Device Network Settings:
For IGEL OS 12:Â
In the UMS Web App > Devices, select the device.
Click Edit Configuration.
Go to Network > Common Settings > Computer name and specify the required hostname.
Save the settings.
Select that you want the settings to be applied Now.
Refresh the browser window in order to see the changed hostname.
Reboot the device.

For IGEL OS 11 and earlier:
In the UMS Console > Devices, right-click the device.
Choose Edit Configuration.
Go to Network > LAN Interfaces.
Change Terminal name.
Click Save.
Select that you want the settings to be applied Now.
Click the Refresh button in the UMS in order to see the changed hostname.
Reboot the device.
Option 2:
If Adjust network name if UMS-internal name has been changed is checked under UMS Console > UMS Administration > Global Configuration > Device Network Settings:
In the UMS Console > Devices, right-click the device.
Choose Rename.
Change the name.
Click OK.
Right-click the device.
Choose Other commands > Settings UMS -> Device.
Reboot the device.
